Tron Ares is an upcoming American science fiction action film directed by Joachim Rønning from a screenplay by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne. It is a standalone sequel to Tron: Legacy (2010) and the third installment in the Tron franchise.
Tron Ares has finally downloaded. Tron Ares has the network migrating files from the gaming grid to our world in an epic night chase with crimson lightcycles on an IRL highway with cops in pursuit. The original Tron depicted programs and routines in the computer as alive with a working-class earnestness. Tron Legacy left all of the blue-collar programmers behind for the flash and bang of a neon nightclub inside the machine. Now the computer program is in the real world, fighting in the streets. It’s always nice when the humans have something to fight other than each other.
Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson, with Jeff Bridges reprising his role as Kevin Flynn from the previous installments.
