The sequel to Freaky Friday (2003) is here and ups the swaps. The body-swapping comedy goes beyond Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan’s mother/daughter switcheroo and now also include new granddaughter Julia Butters and step-daughter Sophia Hammons into the mix. Confused? Don’t worry, it will all be conveniently explained in the trailer.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are joined by others from the 2003 original Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Rosalind Chao. New to the franchise are Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Vanessa Bayer. The film is directed by Nisha Ganatra and written by Jordan Weiss and produced by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Freakier Friday will be in theaters on August 8, 2025.
