Konami’s cold war thriller in the Metal Gear franchise gets a next-gen remake with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Based on the 2004 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the tactical action classic was brought back to life by Konami Digital Entertainment and Metal Gear vets producer Noriaki Okamura and Creative Producer Yuji Korekado.

Set in 1964, the game follows FOX operative codenamed Naked Snake, who must rescue a prominent Russian rocket scientist and sabotage the Soviet nuclear superweapon Shagohod, a precursor to the eponymous Metal Gear bipedal, nuclear weapons-equipped tank. Players engage in guerilla warfare and stealth combat against one of the best cadre of villains ever assembled for a videogame, including but not limited to a guy who shoots bees, a guy who shoots bullets, a guy who shoots crossbow bolts, a guy who shoots lightning, a guy who shoots flames and a guy who also shoots bullets but survives by photosynthesis. An upgraded camouflage system allows a players to blend in with all sorts of environments to sneak up and scarf various critters and reptiles to recover health and stamina.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S August 28th, 2025.
