Scarlett Johansson steps into the director’s chair with “Eleanor The Great,” a drama starring June Squibb. Written by Tory Kamen, the film follows a A 94-year-old Floridian woman as she strikes up an unlikely friendship with a 19-year-old student in New York City. Alongside Squibb the film stars Erin Kellyman, Jessica Hecht, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film had its world premiere at the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2025.

“Eleanor The Great” will be released by Sony Pictures Classics and will be in theaters September 26th, 2025.
